the church, and how we, as trans people who are religious,
can experience bias in our faith communities. With the help
of their many years of experience working with trans people
negotiating their relationships with religious institutions,
the authors (one of whom is trans) have created this

churches' relationship with trans people. Combining
first-hand interviews, Chris and Tina’s own experiences and
scripture analysis, this thought-provoking guide uses this
combination of ancient and contemporary stories to outline a
theology that welcomes and includes all people whatever

SIBYLS PURLEY CHASE WEEKEND
24-26 September 2021
Christian Communities, Transgender People, and Celtic
Traditions
We are happy to announce that the next Sibyls
weekend will take place (Covid permitting) at the Purley
Chase Centre in Warwickshire from the 24-26 September 2021.
The Purley Chase Centre is a retreat centre and
event venue set in the beautiful North Warwickshire
countryside.
Originally a Victorian gentleman’s
residence, Purley has been greatly extended to offer
comfortable en-suite and dormitory accommodation. The theme
for the weekend will be “Christian
Communities, Transgender People, and Celtic Traditions”.
These sessions will take place on the Saturday morning.
Saturday afternoon is free just to chill out or visit local
attractions. As with all Sibyls weekends there will plenty
of opportunity to chat, meet old friends and make new.

GOVENMENT LGBTI ACTION PLAN PUBLISHED IN JULY 2018
The Government released its LGBTI Action
Plan in July 2018. It is intending to ban all "Gay Cure" and "Reparative
Therapy" approaches

confidential Christian spirituality group for transgender people, their
partners and their supporters. We also welcome intersex people.The
Sibyls offers companionship along the
journey, and information/advocacy to churches.
All who support us are welcome. The Sibyls is an inclusive Christian group.
We just ask that you abide by the ethos and
purpose of the group and are on the same spiritual journey.
No subscription is asked for. No conformity with specific faiths,
creeds or doctrines is required.
